Manual RX – Strain-Counterstrain


The Strain-Counterstrain technique, as begun by Lawrence Jones, DO, has been continuously developing for over 30 years. This passive release technique is used to relieve pain by placing an affected joint in a position of greatest comfort. At this point, the body’s own feedback mechanism will be utilized to release undue tension within the affected muscle group(s). This technique requires expertise in diagnostically choosing the correct muscle(s) and being able to feel the barrier of activity. Many therapists have neither the intuitive awareness, nor education, to effectively utilize this treatment.

Inner Circle incorporates this technique within their treatment approach to assist in relieving pain and increasing function as well as attaining deeper levels of relaxation.
